Real talk for a minute – calligraphy envelopes are expensive! You’ve already spent the money on wedding invitations and you know the envelopes are likely going to end up in the trash. So, why should you spend money on calligraphy envelopes for your wedding? Here are my top 3 reasons you should consider calligraphy envelopes:
1. Calligraphy envelopes set the tone for your wedding day. The wedding invitation (and its envelope!) is the very first impression of your wedding day that your guests will have. Think about how it feels when you open up your mailbox and sort through the pile of junk mail (seriously, SO MUCH junk mail!). Isn’t it the best feeling when you see a handwritten card from a family member or friend? I always feel so special knowing that someone took the time to handwrite a card to me. Now imagine that feeling elevated even more when the envelope is written in beautiful calligraphy! Your guests will be excited about your wedding before they’ve even seen the invitation! And they know that your wedding will be elegant and beautiful because you’ve made it a priority with the calligraphy envelope.
2. Calligraphy envelopes are a beautiful background for detail shots on your wedding day. Your photographer will generally take some close up photos of your wedding rings, bridal jewelry, and other heirlooms on your wedding day. Using a calligraphy envelope as a background is simple and oh so elegant! You could choose a special family member’s address such as a parent or grandparent, or you could use you and your new husband’s address.
3. You won’t have to worry about your wedding envelopes. This might be the biggest reason for paying for calligraphy envelopes! As a bride, you have so many responsibilities to think about, but making sure that every name and address are written correctly, formatted properly, and centered perfectly on each envelope does not have to be one of them. It is a tedious task but super important. After you gather the addresses, your calligrapher, instead of you, can be responsible for making your envelopes accurate and gorgeous! P.S. You should totally check out Postable – it’s a digital (and free!) way to have your guests send you their address information! It would be a huge timesaver for you as a bride, and then you could easily share the information with your calligrapher!
