Let’s talk about one of my all-time favorite topics -- food! Food is going to be an important part of your wedding, right? After all, “A party without cake is just a meeting” (Thanks Julia Child!). So let’s talk about wedding menu calligraphy!
Every bride carefully considers the menu at the wedding and it’s obvious that your guests need to know what they are eating! Food signs will be helpful for your wedding guests, but when you choose calligraphy food signs, they can integrate seamlessly with the other wedding décor and take your food display to a whole new level, whether it's for drink, dessert, or a buffet! Food signage is appropriate for any style of wedding.
Aside from large menu boards, there are two general options for calligraphy food signs. The first option is tented placecards. For the bride on a budget, tented calligraphy food signs are perfect. They are small in size but still beautiful! I love using Paper Source for these tented signs because they have so many beautiful color options!
Another option is a framed calligraphy food sign. You can choose ink colors and frames that correlate with the colors and textures of your wedding. Think about vintage frames, rustic wood frames, metal frames, etc. These framed calligraphy signs are generally better for a table with less food options simply because they take up a bit more space. But they are beautiful and really bring the food to the center of attention!
A framed bar menu is also an elegant way to share your signature wedding drink options. Or create a menu on something totally unique - like this vintage barn shingle!
You can also get creative with your wording! I love how Mikaela came up with these fun phrases for the brunch menu at her wedding!
One more bonus feature of calligraphy food signs – for brides who are not sure they can afford placecards for everyone, you can incorporate some beautiful calligraphy and have a gorgeous food display without breaking the bank! Check out my listings for calligraphy food signs and other wedding day calligraphy options – I know we can find something that works for your budget and event! And if you want to learn how to do calligraphy like this yourself, check out the details for my upcoming workshop! I would love to meet you and show you how to make beautiful calligraphy signs of your own!
